Pearl explores the idea that our experiences, both joyful and difficult, shape us into something unique. Layers of paint, texture, and expressive linework build a portrait that feels both fragile and strong, appearing softly from the surface like a memory or a quiet revelation.

Created through an intuitive process, this work was guided by feeling rather than expectation. Marks were added, obscured, and rediscovered, allowing the image to unfold naturally. The result is a portrait that speaks of resilience, grace, and the hidden beauty often found beneath life’s imperfections.

For me, Pearl is a reminder that some of the most beautiful parts of ourselves are not formed despite our struggles, but because of them. Like a pearl beneath the surface, they are revealed slowly, through patience, acceptance, and time.
